In any type of leadership position you absolutely, without a doubt, must understand that you need to build a team of superstars to accomplish and crush goals. That means that you are going to need to hire, manage, and lead a team of people who have better skills than you in specific areas.

John Quincy Adams said “If your attitude inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader”. And I fully believe that entails appreciating every team members skill set and what they are great at and pushing them to excel in their area of expertise.

There is nothing worse than a boss who belittles accomplishments and hides their team’s true skill sets. Letting stakeholders and others know just how talented your team is and you lead them will empower them to work harder for you, and will provide a much better working environment.
